A living and victorious church

Since 1984, more than fifty trips and more than 150 Brazilian volunteers have built, alongside the Liga Evangélica de Cuba, an alliance that has held through the years: a bridge of love.

Forged in hardship

“A living and victorious church” is the motto of a church that lives the love of God and carries out its mission of bringing Cuba to Christ, to every Cuban who needs an experience with Jesus. The videos on this site express better what is hard to put into words.

Yes, Cuba is an island where the children of God, disciples of Jesus, are “forged in hardship” without ever losing their brightness and their Caribbean joy. That brave, persevering and joyful character has won many hearts in the church all across Brazil.

When teams come together from different states and cities, we think we are the ones going to help and encourage, but in truth we come back stronger, built up ourselves. They are the ones who have inspired us to keep seeking the excellent Way, the truth and the abundant life in Jesus Christ.

Our alliance with the Cuban church withstands difficulties, time and people because it is eternal, founded on the truth of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus on this earth. As tears and sweat run together, in joy or in sorrow, the cry remains: Cuba for Christ! We are, and we build, only bridges of love.

“Thank you, Brazilian Church. Thank you, A Fim de Proclamar Mission. Thank you, beloved volunteers. Forgive us, in the name of our country, for those of you who were arrested, expelled and persecuted because of the work you did. Many of them are converted today.”

Pastor Alejandro Nieto (†2009), president of the Liga Evangélica de Cuba
